G'day.
It looks like the pinion seal on the ute is leaking oil, I've ordered a new seal from rare spares, should be here (Darwin) in a few days. The job looks fairly straight forward after having a mate (mechanic) explain it to me, but after reading the manual I'm a bit confused as it starts going on about load measuring devices (havn't got the book on hand as I write this).
Has anyone out there done this before?

Most diffs have a collapsible spacer that preloads the pinion bearings, so undoing the flange and retorquing it so that the nut goes back in exactly the same amount of turns may not give you the same setup between the pinion and crownwheel teeth leading t |

all we do is centre punch the pinion and the nut so they line up(befor you undo the nut) change the seal do it back you so the dots line up again and put some locktite on the nut, should get you out of trouble.
