My definition of muscle/performance car is what was the high end sports model of that range...eg HKTG Monaro,HQ GTS,SS, HJ GTS,etc.

Yes mario I did and it started in a different thread so I moved it here. I only moved it here so that people could debate it and start to give it some thought, after all there is some big nconsistencies with "muscle cars".

My 2 pennies worth. Muscle cars are the biggest v8 lump of steel available for the vehicle, carburetted and intended to frighten little old ladies.

The 5 litre monaro's up to HX (it's fun to wind them up behind little old ladies hogging the passing la

Have been thinking about this. There is no way that the Brabham Torana can be left out of this list. No matter how many people think that it is not a "muscle car". After all, it did have a 3 inch tail shaft, just like the GTHOs.

Have been thinking about this. There is no way that the Brabham Torana can be left out of this list. No matter how many people think that it is not a "muscle car". After all, it did have a 3 inch tail shaft, just like the GTHO's.

brabham troana is only made for raceing. not for street. brabham went out on his own to bulid his own car to suit for raceing.Thats why other manufacter,spat the dummy of his winning, changed the rules to kick him out race. why did peter brock left h.d.t.

The Brabham Torana was most certainly a road going version of the HB fitted with twin carbs & stripes. 1600GT Cortinas were selling well so Holden had to do something by way of a 4 cylinder "muscle car"
