guys,

I have a standard VS bottom end 308.
i have measured the bores at 101.58mm with a max out of round of .02mm

this made me happy as it basically measures up as a new motor.

I had a thought of dumping the standard dish top pistons in favour of some flat tops to boost compression.

now a hone would be required, how far out would the honing process take the bores?

was thinking of honing bores, putting in flat tops, and balancing the rod and piston weights for an economical build.

does this seem a reasonable idea?

Cheers

Ed
