I have a query about two way elect switches, i am trying to wire up an electric seat, and so i bought a 3 pin, two way switch, I am sure power goes to centre pin, and one wire to each side, from motor of seat? but i am sure it needs an earth? and have no idea, as to how to apply an earth?
any help thoughts will be greatly appreciated?

Hi fallingbear.

It depends on how the motor is wired. Many these days just have 2 wires (call them A & B). If we put 12V to A & earth B, then the motor will go one way. If we put 12V to B & earth A, then the motor will rotote in the opposite direction.
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

thanks dr terry, I think i will need six way switches? unless this switch is the earth? i dont think so, so anyone know where to get good six way switches?
