Folks,
Had a bit of a nosey through, and could only find passing references to this conversion being 'easier' than others, but what is required to convert Nissan 3.0 6cyl commie to 308 V8 commie (other than the engine itself).
Am looking at one of two options - either get a Walkshaw kitted RB30 5 speed manual and transplanting in the real engine, or getting a reasonably straight VL V8 and adding body kit. I am more mechanically inclined than panel work inclined so I am tempted to the former, but if there is too much in the way of rework involved I may end up throwing more money at it than the couple of G's to fit the kit and paint.

I beleive there is a lot of extra bracing etc that was done, the trans tunnel is also different in V8.

Battery changed sides too between VL6 & VL8.
All up it's probably the hardest model Commodore to change between a six & an eight.
Having said that though it's still a Commodore so if you do have a donor V8 VL it would still be a doable job.
