Hello,
Recently got my 308 rebuilt, and am finding myself now with transmission problems. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what may be causing this problem, as I have a reco'd (6 months old), stage 2 trimatic in her and she just won't change gears when cold. Once you finally get her to change into second, there won't be a problem again for the rest of the day until the engine is shutoff for a long period and all running gear cools down.
I am assuming its probably got something to do with the vacumm, as I mentioned before the transmission is a reco, although it is a traumatic, sigh. Any ideas on how I could self diagnose the problem ?
Cheers.

I had a HK Premier with a powerglide auto, it wouldn't change out of 1st until the oil was warm. It ended up being hardened seals in the tranny (due to old age) and these would become pliable when warm and then would operate properly. Sorry I can't reme

Have a check where the vacuum line is connected to the manifold. It is possibly connected to a valve which only opens when warm, making gear changes delayed. also check the vacuum line is good and connected.

The vacuum actuator in the back half of the tranny case (accessable by removing from from outside case) is probably gummed up. remove actuator and clean / degum piston. This should help.
