Hi. there are probably heaps of posts on here already but i am trying to cear something up. i have a 95 vs ute v8 with the level 2 dash and was hoping to go to level 3 now i got a dash out of a vq stato and the harnes out of a vs belina but reading on here aparently the vn-vp have a green back and the vr-vs have a blue back. the question is if i put the loom into my ute can i add this vq green back dash or do i have to get a vr-vs blue back dash...??

On the level 1 and 2 dashes you will blow them up, as a fellow I know put a level 3 in his VN I would suggest the same will happen with it, it has to do with the pin positions for the wiring.

That's right Warren, some very critical power supply & earth pins are in different locations between VN/Q/P and VR/VS.

As well as that, the warning light strips are also in a different order.

There is no 'loom' as such in a VQ that you can 'plug' in

I have a vr exec with a tacho dash what level is this? I`m not up to speed with the commodore stuff.

hey mick!

i didnt realise it was that easy to replace the cluster to a level 3 in an existing level 1/2 setup.

can you be more specific into how its done? possibly post up a step by step guide? i know im asking heaps...

where do you wire this 4t

Level 1 is apeedo, fuel & temp.
Level 2 is speedo, fuel, temp & a tacho.
Level 3 is the same as 2, but with the addition of the trip computer displays.

I have been stung giving out wiring info, so I don't do it anymore. There are too many variations

okay cheers for that this helps so now i have a spare vn/q/p level 3 dash if any one is chasing one works fine, if any one has a vr/s dash spare give me a hoy...!
