Hi Guys,
I've got a Motor Manual magazine from the mid 70s that has an article about VDO's "Tempomat" (early style cruise control) that they had available back in the day.
The car that they fitted it to is a HQ, which has full instrumentation, but the speedo has a trip meter in it! Also the 4 smaller gauges have different markings on them, but the tacho is the same. There are no external pics of the vehicle but it looks like it might be a Statesman Deville (woodgrain, V8, factory air). I can't make out if the speedo is in mph or km/h or both, as its been chopped off.
I thought it may possibly be an export model or prototype. Just wondering if anyone would be able to help, as I'd love to get one of those speedos for my HQ.

Yes it's South African Export model HQ,
Mine has the same dash and instrumentation.
Speedo is in MPH and Km/H with trip meter.
Red needle gauges.
You would be extremely lucky to find this gauge, as I haven't seen one in any local market HQ Statesm

hmmmm ... not only is the tripmeter there (but can't tell if its a mph or kph speedo), but you can also clearly see graduations on the minor gauges which I thought disappeared from the HQ onwards ...
can ANYONE shed light on where these HQ gauges come

Not a great photo, but this is all I have from my HQ Export, will take another one tomorrow in daylight. Hope this works.

Thanks for the photos ozchevy, its a nice HQ. Your dash is the standard Aussie HQ DeVille dash with the same gauges and fascia. Doesn't look like you've got a trip meter, but you've got the standard odometer. Have a good look at the photo in my post above
