hey. ive got an EH which i was planning on restoring. i have started stripping it back and have now found a couple of bits of rust in bad places. i was wandering whether anyone thinks it would be worth trying to fix or start looking for a different body? here are some images of the rust. the rest of the car isn't in the best of condition. i have come across quite a few patches of bog and fibreglass repairs. UGLY fix it job from previous owner! The good parts about it are running 179 with 350 holley and extractors. recon fully sync trimatic, with 3 on the floor and 6 point roll cage. some panels are ok. lots of good little bits and pieces. would it be a better option to rip all the running gear out and find a new body or try and fix this one? First time restoring car so not very experienced. Bit of guidance would be appreciated Ta guys.

This sort of work can end up in the $10,000 range of repairs once all done. |

I have seen far worse than that successfully repaired but it depends a lot on who is doing the repairing. If you don't have the skills then don't worry it is possible to get them. You may also find it is economical to get someone else to do it but that

I'd get another shell. Have a good look at your current shell and note where the rust is. When sourcing another shell, check the same places for rust. As you have noticed, some people just love to bog or fibreglass over rust. It just never ceases to a

It was the same with my EH ute when I bought it. Drum brakes up front, but a balljoint front end, not kingpins. Definitely HR front end. Boy was I happy.
And the bonus is that you can buy a kit from CRS to mount LH Torana disk brakes to HR drum brake s
