Hi all, here is what I want to do to an eh, Is it feasible, and could it be registered in Vic?
Carby 308
t56 manual
cut and shut commo diff
Front brakes 330mm Commo pattern, 300mm rear disc
17" rims
tasteful roll cage (To stiffen things up a bit)
LH/LX or aftermarket triangulated 4-link, retaining original rear rails.
Front crossmember, Use a modified HR or one of Pat Gardiners new front sections with rack and pinion steering.
Chassis bracing, either rodshop or make my own.

I want this car to have a bit of poke, stop on a dime and handle decent. Can it be done or am I wasting my time. MUST be capable of reg.
Thanks all...

the roll cage may be a problem, there are new laws.
Even if the roll cage is built to standard, you'll get hassled

Yeah, Ive been following that one with interest, The cage is merely to tie the shell into the chassis work. Would the chassis kits that are available e.g. rodshop stiffen up the car enough without the cage? I guess the old girls are pretty sloppy to begin

An EH is a monoconstructed body. There is no seperate chassis. You cant tie the body into the chassis, as there is only one unitary construction.

I personally don't like the bolt in chassis kits. They do not provide as much benefit as a properly fabric

For a light car that the EH is have you considered the Commo V6? Its lighter and now has more horses than the early Commo 5.0 litres.
Engineering costs maybe a little less and the Gardners in Moree have kits for the conversion. Theres probably a bit more

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

It is not necessarily drama's. It is choices too. You do what you want. Some people want exhaust through the inner guard, some do not. Some want alloy radiator, some do not. Choice plays a big part. After the engineer's tick of approval of course. Just ch

Im only guessing on the LH/LX rear suspension as I figure the rear track might be of a similar width. VB/VC commodore may be another option. The floor mods shouldnt be a big hassle, as has been mentioned for muffler fitment I might be performing a bit of

You can move the rails. You will find that there are very few engineers willing to go through with the process with you. They do not design it for you. They test and approve. You will need to design something that has the capability to pass the torsional
