Can anyone tell me if a VH V8 motor and trimatic fit straight into the bay of a HZ ute,do you have to change mounts & cross members,any help would be great

The engine mounts and cross members will be different and so will the sump, otherwise the motor physically fits.
The brackets for the accessories and the cast iron exhaust manifolds will also be different.

All you need to change is the sump & pickup and the adapters between the engine mounts and the block. Rest is the same. Just be aware that the VH engine will have a longer nose water pump so the spacer on the fan will be shorter and the coil needs a full Edited by user Sunday, 15 July 2007 4:11:12 AM(UTC)
