hey guys/girls.

i got a VS S-Pack Commodore with standard brakes. Recently i installed 17x8" rims, and am curious to upgrade the brakes in the near future.

I found an old post in here, where someone states the VZ Front brakes fit directly onto the VS hubs...

Refer:

http://www.fastlane.com....0&SearchTerms=brakes,VS

Is this true? or is there adaptors needed? (to mount the bigger calipers out further) if so, what adaptors?

Im trying to keep it along the OEM path, so parts are cheaper and readily available. (ie; to intially setup, then pad replacements)

and what size difference is it?

VS Front disc = _____mm

VZ Front disc = _____mm

Cheers!

Mark.

VR-VS front disc 289mm diam x 23mm thick
VT-VZ disc 298mm diam x 28mm thick

Caliper bolts straight up (VT-VZ all the same caliper)
No additional brackets needed

What you do need is the following
Either DBA discs made with the correct 70mm centre

thats a big help... thanks guys...

my reasoning for the upgrade, is that im an aggressive driver at times, and my brakes can overheat.

so i want to upgrade them so they work more effectively and with less strain.

ahhh sweet...

but that still leaves the question...

putting twin spots, you increase the amount of pad to be squeezed, therefore, dont you need to upgrade the master cylinder too?

and ABS... that shouldnt affect anything?

You need more displacement for the larger calipers
If its a VS it should have a plastic booster and 7/8 master cylinder
You can adapt the VT master as I said above to improve pedal height

I am still using the VS booster, the pedal feels slightly different to start with but works fine ,I have had this set up on for over 1 and a half years with no probs.

I think thats what I said

There is no VS 1" master
7/8 only
Its different to the earlier cars that you can just whack a 1" on
Hence the need to use the VT one

why do you need spacers? I put VZ discs on my VS stato and put the stato mags back on no spacers needed.

Either DBA40B (the B gives you the 70mm centre hole)
Or normal 40's and spacer rings

One or the other

If you are ordering DBA brand rotors you order DBA040BSL and DBA040BSR
These have the right centre hole

Yes you need different hoses as yours won't fit the caliper properly
The existing lines go straight into the back of the caliper
The VT has hose
