Will a EB 3.9 lt head fit on a 4.lt eb engine?
I had a mate(yeh i thought)help me change some gaskets and so he rattled gunned the exaust bolts back on and threaded the allow head!
I have a spare 3.9lt head but the chamber where the valves are look different as the 4.0lt is just round and the 3.9 has different wells.
Just wondering if it will go on and run fine and i know it will lower the compression but will it do harm or are i better off getting the head off and taking to an engineer to re tap the allow on the excaust side?
Thanks all.

Hi Paul
You could helicoil that thread. It will be heaps cheaper than a head swap when you factor in gaskets etc and you should be able to do it with the head on the engine.
