Hello all,

Ive been told that it is now illegal to put a 5 speed gearbox in my HG in queensland due to the fact you have to cut into the sub structure to perform the conversion.
Has anyone else come up against this red tape. We all know how common this conversion is, why the drama's?

I wouldnt be surprised as that crossmember is close to the front seat support in HK-HG and the gearbox rear support in HK and some HT.

Use a HQ? I can't think of any other ways around it if you can't touch the crossmember.
