Hi everybody, What are the effects of changing brake booster size? The hot rod guys all seem to use small diameter boosters on their braking system and I wonder how it affects braking performance. Is there more pedal effort required for the same braking performance because of the lower vaccuum reserve? As an example, an under dash brake setup in a hq, what exactly is affected by using a smaller diameter booster to fit to factory brakes. I hope you can interpret my gibberish. Phill

Generally speaking if youre comparing 2 boosters that are both are the single diaphragm type, then the larger the diameter, then the more the boost. This means than you would need more pedal effort with a smaller diameter booster than with a |
