Hi all,

I have a seized AC Delco aircon compressor on my HZ Statesman. I have a Sanden 508 compressor that was supposed to have come off a 308 V8 also, but I dont have the brackets. Will I be able to fit the Sanden compressor up to the factory bracket (passenger side mounting) or do I need to find another AC Delco compressor? Like to know what I'm in for before I start attacking the job!!

Lastly at highway speeds the stato is pushing water past the cap, pressurising the overflow bottle and spraying water over the inner guard, does this sound like the cooling system is being pressurised by maybe a leaking head gasket? The car isn't missing, doesn't run hot and makes good power, the radiator cap is the correct one and new also.

Thanks all

Peter

you should be able to get or make brackets to fit, try a later model engine.
you may have a head gasket on the way out, this can occur without affecting the running too much. check all the spark plugs, the cylinder with the leak will have different appea

One thing you may have to do is change the water pump pulley, as these sometimes are different in length, at least on the 6s, don't know about the 8s. you will know when you fit the new compressor as the pulleys may not line up from the crank-compressor-f
