hi a friend of mine has a v6 vt berlina and for the last few months it has had oil in the radiator and in the plastic overflow bottle.i dont know much about holdens so i thought id ask the pros ;) anyway she has been told it maybe a head gasket but know one is prepared to fix it.holden and other mechanics say they will reco the motor but no one is prepard to fix it.i have a fair bit of mechanical knowledge and i am willing to have a go at it but was wondering what could be the problem?is there is a common fault problem with the head gaskets etc?also does anyone know the torque settings for a vt v6 motor.any help is appreciated, also the car doesnt get hot and the auto seems fine so i dont think its the auto lines in the radiator so maybe its a head gasket/head etc???thanks

Firstly a blown head gasket between an oil and a coolant gallery will not cause an overheating engine.
It would however TYPICALLY cause water in the oil not the other way around due to the coolant being under more pressure than the oil after the engin |

Hey
I had the same problem with my vr v6. However it has nothing to do with the engine. In this case it was the transmission oil cooler in the radiator that had blown, causing transmission fluid to mix in with the engine coolant. This caused the radiat
