Righto, Ive got a VT series 2 with a/c probs (non climate control). It use to cut in and out (of and on), for a while, then only worked intermittently on no.4, and now not at all. I just changed the resistor - not that, Did the relay - not that! Next the switch?? I know I have slow a gas leak, and it is empty at the moment. Does it have a low pressure switch - to cut the fan when gas is low? Im now lost on this one, and am not really ecxited about taking it to an Aircon shop for a $1000 - $1500 fix!

yes there is a low/high pressure switch so the unit does not try to run with no gas, as the gas takes the oil around to lubricate the compressor.
The "fix" is to find the leak, not hard, then to fix it. Mine was leaking through the access valves, very

Hi HGPREM.
Just to clear this up, are you saying that the blower fan (in the dash) is not working. If this is the case, the problem is purely electrical. The low pressure switch (actually a sensor on VTs) will only prevent the compressor clutch from op |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

Thanks for your input guys, Yes DR Terry, the fan is/ was cutting in and out, which led me to thinking it was the resistor. But still no luck! Thanks for the offer DR Terry but im in Bris, and will be moving to Darwin in about a month (hence getting t

Righto... I found the cause, it was the aircon Blower inhibit relay. But just one question - what the hell is the purpose of it? There seems to be 3 related relays, Blower, Blower inhibit(both under dash) and aircon relay (under bonnet).
