Hi Guys... My mate wants me to do a quick rebuild for him (his car is a HQ trimatic with a black VK 3.3 motor in it, and it is a daily driver.
Ive read up on the old forums for tips on options, but still have a few questions....
Everyone recomends black/blus crank and rods in a red block, with the 12 port head... what is wrong with the black block.... they talk about pre pollution stuff
I am not really sure what that means. Is the block different or has it got to do with pollution lawa, because they arent an issue here in NZ.
Why not just rebuild the black motor and then adapt a small 4 barrell
to fit it...
any info would be awesome thanks...

The block for all intent power purposes is identical. It is just that here in Aus pre-1976 blocks suit performance in the interest of not requiring pollution gear.
