Hi guys, I have started a 308 red motor from HQ Statesman rebuild. Have got the head recoed to suit unleaded(or gas) so thats fine. the block needed a 20 thou re bore and had it chem cleaned and cam bearings, brass welsh plug etc etc, all standard stuff put in, got flat top pistons for it. Just trying to get a cam. The sites Ive seen require a lot of specs but don't know what to put. I just want a standard cam replacement or I have been told a crowcam stage 1 or 2, just don't know. Do the flat top pistons play a part? and I just want another motor that will last like the original. Apart from parts I'm doing myself with people that have done plenty of rebuilds. Just like to hear some opinions. Thanx

You should be able to ring them up and tell them exactly what you plan for the motor and its intended use and they will be able to recommend the most suitable cam for the application. They can specify cams for gas, towing, racing etc. Thats the way it Edited by user Sunday, 2 September 2007 5:52:17 AM(UTC)
