Hi there,
Can anybody advise me if a T700 transmission from a V8 VN commodore bolt up to a blue 308 and do I need electronics or are these transmissions hydraulically operated.

Electronics no electrics to operate the lockup converter yes.

There is a kit available to do this which costs about $200.

It will bolt up to an early blue motor with a TH pattern block. Manual and later examples a different bellhousing pattern (4-speed or trimatic). They use the same flex plate as a TH350 if that is what is behind it now.

Thanks for the advice Byron.
Do you mean that the T700 will operate ok just bolted straight up to my 308, or are you saying the VN trans needs and electronic switch for the lock-up

It will bolt up fine to the right 308, but it will need a box of tricks to operate the lock up converter, assuming its a VN or VP V8 box. VR on need an even more complicated control device as they are all electric.
