Please help, I have put in 2 used starter motors in and they went so i brought a new starter motor only 2 weeks ago and this one shot it self too.
Anyone had this problem before and can point me in the right direction would be great.

What exactly went wrong with them?

There may be other factors involved.

They just cessed and the first 2 like if I left the ignition lights on the earth on the starter motor would start smoking.

Thats it because I took the first 2 starter motors from cars I wreked and they were working fine and now the new one has cessed,

Well to start with, three starter motors in 2 weeks would seem to suggest that something is wrong with the car and not the starter motor.

It sounds as if the starters are jamming and allowing the main contact to remain mated. This would certainly draw

Could it be the fly wheel (ring gear) and the 3 stater motors went in about 3 months and the last one it was new only 2 weeks ive had it in.
It is the positive thats smoking not the earth, and when I called out road side assistance the said it was the (s

Yes the ring gear could be causing the starter to jam but for the starter to continue drawing current and the wires to smoke it means that the solenoid is also jamming on. This is probably pretty unlikely.

It is next to impossible to diagnose the faul

You could also check with the ignition on and off & the car not running if the "tickler wire" (the smaller one with the spade) has constant power going through it which it should not.

Thank you jim saved me again!!!

It was the spade wire and i replaced the conector and started like she was new.
