am wondering if any one out there can tell me why the duel plane manifolds have the divider under the carb to seperate the two sides and if removing the divider or an open carbie spacer(effectivly joining the two sides)would have any adverse effects on performance at all

The divider is to effectively quarantine the two planes from each other, keeping the volume down so that air speed can be maintained. Air speed is important in keeping the fuel peoperly atomised at low revs and hence lower air speed. This maximises low rp |

The divider is basically what makes it a dual plane rather than single plane manifold. Looking through the parts lists for the various manifold companies, dual plane are rated for low - mid RPM and torque. Single are rated for mid - high RPM and horsepo |

The dual plane with the divider removed works good for LPG. Whilst the open plenum still badly affects low down torque with LPG, it still is a necessary evil (almost) as LPG is a gas it requires more volume (well in theory anyway). The dual plane with the |
