Not sure as to when, late HQ?,
but, from then on, holdens rail chassis number matches the tag on the drivers side.

A1 Bogan.

the one on the rail (near steering box) should match the large TAg in front of the driver. for chassis number.

Also the A, B, C etc at the start of the chassis number also indicates the ADR revisions made for that model so the ADR plate is also duplicate info and not needed by the RTA. The only other thing on the ADR plate is the Seating Capacity which can be cert

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

how come there were ht monaros on ebay without id tags????
does that mean you can never lic it...or be able to sell it

A friend of mine is currently going through the magistrates court and fighting the SA RTA over an issue with his ID tags.

He bought a HQ GTS coupe from Sydney and bought it to Adelaide to try and register it.

The car was previously registered in NSW

the only legal thing that the SA authorities have the right to keep is the chassis rails, the tags are not the issue & should not have been removed from the body, as from what you have stated the only thing that is questionable about the car is the chassi

I would have thought the same but obviously common sense has nothing to do with this.

The police have refused to get involved and he has had his first hearing before the courts.

He came armed with all the previous rego details etc and the lawyer rep

legalities aside, whats it worth to you, if you did buy the plates make sure you get the rego plates and papers with them ,If I was going to do what you are doing I would expect these items in the price , basically it would be like your buying a shell wi

try to get the lot, if it is avaliable, specially if the shell has a body number stamped into the fire wall above the heater A/C box.
funny tho, i rember going to a swap a few years ago & seeing a HQ coupe with tags fitted in the wrong places & 1 upside

bottom line on this guys is that when one rebuilds a ground up job, the plates come off, who is to say whether those plates go back on the orginal shell, maybe plates are from a right off, if it helps you build a car then maybe thats ok, legally as we all

Ill buy those tags if you dont want them as I have purchased an old HQ gts 2 door that was a drag car and im putting back on the road. The guy I bought the car off lost the tags. So if you dont want them or you want to sell them call me on 0416144553
