Hi I drove my holden down the road and back with no back doors and I mickied up the wires to get it going. After I stopped I noticed a small pool of petrol and oil mixture on the intake manifold. It appears to be comming from the accelerator pump. Why would oil be mixed with petrol?? I cant see any where else the oil came from. pic link hope it works Cheers http://img237.imageshack...=petrolandoilmixfh5.jpg

Hi thanks ill try that.. I cant see a stream coming from the rocker covers but no doubt they are quite old and not to expensive so will replace them. I thought it was a mix of oil and petrol coming from the carb but couldnt work out how this would happen |

I had the same when I changed the inlet manifold on my 253. Turned out it was oil seeping up the manifold bolts. Don't know how as the manifold was sealing correctly. I used copper washers under the manifold bolts and a small amount of no3

Yep the Manifold bolt are doing it. The oil seeps out of the bolt hole and the fan blows it up the manifold around the carby. Copper washers and some locktight 515 flange sealant should fix it.

I had the same problem a few years ago with my WB that had a leaking Holley 600 on it. To me it looked like/smelt like an oil and petrol mix, but in fact it was just petrol that had evaporated and turned to an oily liquid. I don't know for s
