When I drive at around 80 - 100 km/h and I lift my foot off the accelerator pedal the car immediately slows down and on deceleration there is a vibration that runs through the whole car.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

There is not much vibration upon accelerating to 100 km/hr.

I would be having a look at your uni joints, both front and back.

Don't forget to check the yokes while you are at it because they can wear out. I had a very strange thing happen I had a vibration and it kept breaking the front uni's interesting at speed!
My brother had a HQ with a very bad vibration on deceleration,
