hi, was wondering if anyone knew of any good chrome restorers in qld or nsw. having problems trying to find people to fix out of shape chrome gutter moulds etc cheers

I can tell you a couple not to try. Custom Chrome in Nerang, stuffed me around for 9 months, had to start legal action through Fair Trading to get money and parts back. Walker Chrome in Coffs Harbour, Bad preperation showed in the final result, They did

Can you buy the gutter moulds new, that would eliminate the need to have them repaired and rechromed.

Andrew, what type of gutter mould? Most were stainless, not chrome. There is a bloke in Beenleigh that restores stainless trim. I've seen his work but can't find his contact details. I've heard Harrisons at Logan can also get stainless trim refurbish

i was talking about the gutter moulds on an coupe. and i also got the rear window which is bent. You cant buy them new and they are rather expensive to buy second hand and thought it would be better to just get them fixed. Im not sure if there stainless o

Andrew, the trim on the coupes is stainless steel, NOT chrome. The only part that isn't stainless is the V shaped bit at the back of the quarter window. That's made from pig alloy which is why it corrodes. Ring Harrisons, they'll be able to fix your tr

Proper stainless a magnet wont stick to. But cars use a cheaper stainless that has some iron in. A magnet will stick but not as well as steel.
Its the iron in the steel that it sticks to. pure stainless no iron

No one is reproducing stainless trim for coupes. I believe Rare Spares looked in to it and found that the cost was prohibitive.
I sold two complete sets of XB coupe trims around 2-3 years ago (piece by piece on ebay) and then went out and bought a com
