Can someone please help with info on a HQ coupe with statesman grille made possibly by GMH. Had 350/Z decal on rear quater with rear spoiler and fibreglass styling on the front. May have also had pontiac style bonnet scoops and honeycombs from memory. Was this old man emu or some kind of styling exercise. Also there was a HZ in a couple of shades of blue and snowflake mags doing the show circuit back then. May have even been supercharged or turboed. Memory is started to get hazy, would like to hear if anyone else can recall these Holdens.

The blue sedan was turbo'd and John Bagshaw was tied up in it. There was a feature on it in Australian Muscle Car magazine about 12-18 months ago.

Micks correct, before the car was sold the turbo was taken off as it could not be under GMH warranty, it was very rare for GMH to sell these types of cars due to warranty and parts for one off cars. so most would have been scrapped or made stock again. I

The old man emu I remember was a blue colour, and I think it had a 400 transfer on the guards. May be wrong though. I also thought the turbo GTS was a HX, but again will stand corrected.

After reading through the articles, it seems that the blue 2 door was a clay model, and the yellow one according to leo pruneau (holdens chief stylist at the time) was a prototype. He says that picture looks like it was taken in an area that they used to c Edited by user Monday, 22 October 2007 4:33:42 AM(UTC)
