could someone help meee out here please, I have an FJ with the HR front end on it and the HR Discs and HT hubs, some time ago I went and bought a set of 14x7 HQ jelly bean mags thinking they would do the job but had to get them filled and redrilled to fit the HT hub stud pattern, they sit ok on the rear but on the front sit out pass the guards about 15mm plus, would the HT J/B Mags be the better bet or should I change the hubs for something else. I'm running a very modified black 3.3 so want to keep to 14" rims

why didnt you use hk/t/g jellybeans
hq must be diferent i know hk will fit as i have done the same in the past
i think ht stubs stick out more than hr ...the use the same bearings
i have a set in the shed...i,ll have a look later

hi vintage holden, why i didn't use the hk/t/g, this was all new to me at the time, sort of on a leaning kirb on rebuilding the ol girl, i didn't think, not like it was 30yrs ago doing what ever to these ol cars and no one was to worried, but now i guess

Maybe you should take some measurements and do a sketch to work out your track and offsets better before you go looking for rims.
For example, measure from bolt up face to bolt up face (BUF) and then measure how much clearance you have inwards and outw |

Well then can someone tell me what the "original" track is for an HR?? I dont have original wheels one mine, and I have no idea what to look for.

From Dr Terrys book the front track is 54.7 inces and rear is 54.9 inches. The tyre?/rim is 6.5".

Original track for a HR from the HR Holden workshop manual for a sdn is 1394.46mm or 54.9" front and rear tread.
A std HR rim was a 4.5 inch rim.
The max allowed track listed in the Street_COP_app_2.pdf was HR Holden = 1420mm wide. 55.9055"

Dave. I forgot to add a link to some pictures I have of the rear of my HR with a HR 13x4 1/2 std rim fitted, then 13x5 1/2" std Torana rim, then a couple of different 13x6" rims, then a 13x7" rim, then a 14x5 HT rim and then a 13x9" rim with a 11x20x13 s Edited by user Monday, 12 January 2009 4:29:11 AM(UTC)

RJR, what is your back space measurement? 7" mags on early early holdens (Pre EK) is a bit of a struggle look for a set with 115 mm backspace. but it may hit your steering arms, so check that first.
