Have to agree with you on gearboxes and diffs except for the HQ 350 (TH400 or Muncie) or the HK-HT 1837 if it was ordered with a 12-bolt. The Muncie and 12-bolt are at least as strong as a toploader and 9", but no Holden was ever made with both. The HK/T |

Byron, the big block MUNCIE you mention above, is that the same as what's sometimes referred to as a ROCKCRUSHER muncie,I've always wondered how good they really were? I've also wondered how the everyday ford tinplater(salsbury)diff compares with the h

From what I remember the "rockcrusher" was an early Muncie with less angle on the gears making it very noisy. The HQ Muncie was the big block version that used a TH400 output shaft and fine spline input shaft. The output shaft is huge compared to a normal |

OK. Wasn't 100% sure of the splines. I knew it was less than 28, and the Holden banjo and small Salisbury was 23. So that could make the "baby" Borg Warner slightly stronger than a Holden fine spline banjo and baby 10-bolt.

Fortunately we had all the politically correct people on this forum taken out to sea and used for bait in recreational shark fishing while wearing their "LAND RIGHTS FOR GAY WHALES" T shirts. So HO HO HO and merry christmas.

Fair call. The HQ SS is not rare by any means though (2800 made). HQ 350 coupes and sedans are fairly rare. A9X's and the Bathurst XU-1's are quite rare too. The only Holden muscle cars that do get hard to identify are the early HQ LS coupes and the Batur |
