Maybe one of you ford nuts could help me as im a holden man..My freind has a XF fairmont fuel infected 250 has a bigger cam and mild port work and drives very good but he wants to get more poswer out of it. a freind of mine at work said one of the big problems with the Xflow was poor valve spring tolerance as in they were not a strong spring not all equal with compression strength ending with some valves bouncing before other? he also said the lifters were of poor quality aswell and buy puting solid lifters in and a good set of valve srings the 250 xflow really comes to life?
I have never wroked on a 250 before and we wants me to give him a hand some advice on these engines would be good.
cheers

I was always led to believe that the biggest drawback to the Australian Ford 250 and 4.1 is that they are built on the same block as the 200/3.3 but with a longer stroke. to fit the long stroke into the relatively short block they had to use short con rod
