G'day, Ive got a squeek in the rear end of my VT wagon. I got under it and found something very unusual. The rear wishbone(control arm) / crossmember has 2 pivot points, the outboard pivot point seems to hace 2 bolts comming from either side of the mounting bracket. One of which is missing..... This in turm is twisting the wishbone under load making it squeek. Is this the correct setup? It seems to me that it should have a single bolt going through the bussing with a locknut on the otherside (inboard side). Has someone just dodgied this up? or should I be looking for new bits? The standard ones have a thru-bolt with a locknut on the end of it. Some brands of aftermarket adjustable bush have a solid steel core, with threads tapped into it, and a single bolt is bolted into each side. These are a similar setup to the inner, lowe |

I would say, most definately yes! What are the bushes adjustable for? and where would I get a replacement bolt? also will I have to compress or remove the spring to get it to line back up?

The bushes adjustable (aftermarket ones, not factory) to allow for rear camber and toe adjustment - this is an issue that plagues the rear of VQ/VP > VX commodores.
The bolt will be a fairly common one - something like a 5/16 UNF - take another one |

Not necessarily John - they are made by the aftermarket, so they will use whatever size tap & bolt is the cheapest on a production scale. The aftermarket ones in the back of my VS Calais are imperials.... (I found out the hard way too!)

thanks for your help boys, Seeing as though I have new rubber on the back, I might take it in tho get the camber checked anyway. Glad to hear it wasn't someones dodgy attempt at a quick fix
