are the steering columns in the lc torana the same as in the hk-t-g model range or does the lc have the ignition incorporated in the column ?

i've heard of LH being used for the EH-HR steering conversions don't know if this helps?


If nissan motorsport is nismo, then doesn't that make honda motorsport Homo?

Hi Jayson.

The answers are NO & NO.

All HK, HT, HG & LC models have the ignition switch on the dash, so they have no steering lock.

While the upper part of the column (blinker switch etc.) is much the same, the lower section, thru the firewall, i

thanks once again for your help dr terry your knowledge of the old holdens is incredible.

i was looking at another way around replacing upper steering column bearing in the hg.

i was always under the impresion with LJ torana steering column that:
XU-1 3.5 turns lock to lock
GTR 3.7 ""
STD 3.9 "

???

A1 Bogan.
Old holdens brought on the spot, quick decision, cash paid.

It's not the column that governs the number of turns lock to lock, it's the ratio of the rack & pinion gear itself. This is unless there are different steering stops fitted to limit the turns for tyre clearance as they do for HK/T/G.
