Hi Hope all had a great christmas , i would like to know if anyone knows about the commodore vs SL/R 5000 My aunty just informed me she owns one and i never even knew about them, they are listed in redbook and are a real car only supposed 90 made can anyone help me with some info??

They were a dealer marketing group dress-up kit based on a VS V8 executive. They wore walkinshaw rims, and had the SS lower skirt kit fitted, and painted silver, as well as badging/decals.

Mark is wrong. They were really based on a calais. They had trim that was similar to the VS HSV MANTA. No skirts. They were all black with a small amount of silver along the bottom. They had a calais front bar with driving lights. Badging was on the back

Don't think so.
They are definately a K trim code, which is an Exec base. The Calais wears an X trim code.
Just because it may have tizzied up trim & foglights (although I have pics of one with no foglights) doesn't mean they are calais based.

I just want to know who Mark is and why is he wrong? And what is wrong with Walkinshaw rims,imo they were one of the best fitted to any commodore.

NO hsv in the vr -vs series cars were based on calais , the manta is based only on a excecative..

I own one of these cars - have had it since new. Holden by Design made these vehicles (the Glasses Guide says 120 but there was only 92 manufactured) for Melbourne dealers only and they were a promotional car to celebrate 25 years of the Torana SLR 5000.

i own number 029. they are based on executive, mine has walky rims although senator wheels was what i was told the car had originally, slr 5000 badgers on lower rear doors and back bumper right hand side, and slr 5000 and build number on dash where execut
