Just to put the missus's mind at ease. I have a 1970 XW Fairmont - factory 302 Windsor. Unlicensed/ minimal rust/ needs paint/ runs OK/ no brakes "LOOK OUT". Paid 3 grand 18 months ago. Would appreciate some opinions on value. Not for sale though (never). Young bloke can't wait to get behind the wheel - only 20 years to wait. Hope he's got enough patience.
Cheers

Hi Stu. $3K seems pretty reasonable to me for a Fairmont with little rust. I paid $1800 for a bent, barely running ZD Fairlane based on the fact that it had fixable rust. Tell the missus you did well! :)

My brother paid $6000 for one 13 years ago. Externally it looked new, had a reco 302W but the interior was in very ordinary condition.
They have appreciated somewhat since 1995 so it's now insured for $20,000 (with a $15,000 alloy headed cleveland |
