Hi all, im considering buying a 77 LX torana, it comes with a 173, and i was just wondering if any one knows any difficulties involved with changing the 173 to a 202 or even something larger like 253 or 303, id imagine the engine mounts would need to be changed, but not sure what else, dont know alot about toranas so wanting to learn more if im going to buy it

cheers

another 6 is a straight swap , a v8 is complete drive line , suspension, exhaust, radiator etc. you can use the diff from a 6cyl UC for a v8 as its a salisbury.for a daily driver a 173 is ok and not to thirsty remembering toranas are not to heavy, a slig

6cyl UC diff is just a banjo in disguise, and wont fit an LH/LX. Just use a 202 and be happy. They go pretty good. If it hasnt got RTS already a swap to a UC Torana front crossmember is an excellent conversion, and will transform the cars handling.
