G'day all I am updating an Escort I purchased recently, is any one here able to help. Presently it has drum rears original suspension and engine/ 4sd manual box. I want to upgrade brakes ( disc all round) drop in a new ( maybe imported) donk ( keep the original in the shed)prefer bolt on rather than rebuild etc, looking for some one who has alredy done this so i dont have to reinvent it.Thanks

If you read this thread you will see what I have done to get better brakes on my Capri. I used an XB diff housing. An XR-XY diff housing is 50mm narrower than an XA-EL housing so if you do what I did it would be about right for an Escort. Then you just fi |

Oh and XR-XY axles are suitable for shortening unlike XA-XC axles.
