Hi all, I would appreciate some help with the following -
I am looking at purchasing a hq monaro coupe with the VIN No. 8N37RCJ3xxxx and model No. HQ 80437. The eng trans and rear axle codes have not been stamped on the id tags. Also provided are the original dealer warranty certificate and first registration documnts that coresponds to the current engine No. fitted to the vehicle. The car is a three speed column shift.
The problem I have is when a tried to confirm the above with Holden Customer Assistance Centre, they advised that their record show that the car is a 6 cylinder four speed manual.
I have checked the floor and their is no hole or weld markings. I also contacted the original owner who advised that the car was a special order V8 253 column shift manual.
Appreciate assistance

Well it would not be a special order unless no options means special order, ie 80437 comes standard with 253 and three speed column shift manual. As it had no optional driveline then it is left blank on HQ. (ie you will never find an HQ tag with L32 (253)

Thanks for the info, just to confirm that if the id states 80437 this is a standard v8(253) monaro coupe.

The R in the VIN also means 253 and 37 is the body code for a coupe regardless of what is on or not on the Body ID plate.
