Hi, I'm hoping that someone out there can shed some light on this subject. Why are the rear wheel arches on my HQ ute different lengths (inside the deck)? I noticed a VS series ute the other day in a car park has the same design, longer on drivers side than the passenger side. Any ideas why?

In the commodore utes its because they use the pressings from the wagon, which have a longer one on the RH side to allow room for the fuel filler.
