For years this has facinated me but no one I know, knows why the inner wheel wells are different in the HQ/Z. Is it the same for the earlier utes as well and did this continue in the Commodore utes (havent looked)?

NO HQ-WB AND HK-HG AND HD-HR ect are all the same. but from vn on holden just went the cheap option. looks like crap to. i wonder what is hiding under the VE liner. at least holden use to have galvanized steel.

As commodorenut has said, the VG onwards are different lengths, because the ute was built on the wagon platform so the right-hand wheel well is longer because that's where the fuel filler pipe sits in a wagon. The HQ to WB ute & vans are no
