Hi there people,
I have a 307 chev short motor that's been sitting on my kitchen floor for the last ten years. This motor was rebuilt about fifteen(!) years ago and has never been used, can I still use it as is or should I freshen up the rings and bearings and such?
I also have a set of power pak heads that I had rebuilt about ten years ago...still wrapped in plastic, would these still be usable?
I'm mainly worried about the spring tension...

The rest of the motor; 30 thou over, flat tops, holley 600 vac/sec,
edelbrock performer, twin row t/chain, and the mighty POWERGLIDE!,
...Can you say "old school"?

Strip it and check it, the biggest killer is condensation, as there is water in the air and a simple change in temp can cause the smallest amount of condensation to occur, thus a spot of rust, hence a seized ring/ bearing. The last thing you want after 15

Thanks: 1 times
If it turns over by hand then it shouldnt have any ring problems as far as siezed but im not sure about if it will smoke or not.I dunno if its worth filling with oil to the right level then putting something down where the dizzy goes and turn the oil pump
If its not broke it will be soon

Thanks guys, but you were supposed to say "That'll be fine!"
or "the longer you leave it the more horsepower it'll have!"
I'd better buy a torque wrench I suppose...
