Gday i bought a HQ ute today wondering if anyone could tell me how it started life colours and trim and stuff.. VIN 8M60DCJ3737430 5-73 DHQ86216 Model-HQ80160 trim- 1821-39A paint-568-13134 it has eng, trans and diff but they all blank and never been stamped by the looks. 8M60 = chassis and cab ( 1 tonner ),D = ENGINE high comp 173 , c = year 1973 , J3 = Built at dandenong in victoria , 737430 = sequence it was built at dandenong.
SO it would be a HQ 1973 1 tonner most likely it had a

i thought all one tonners were made in south aus i worked as a welder on the hq and hj and torana didnt see any tonners must have been a different plant cheers
