Just wondering if anyone could help me out with my hz ute.Its running a red 308 with extractors,mild cam and 600 vac holley.At idle it seems to blow a lot of black smoke it was doin this when I had a 650dp on it so I thought that the 600 should help this prob I have reset the float levels and adjusted timing but still the ****ing black smoke.Does anyone have any suggestions its driving me nuts.

take ur plugs out when u see this happen...see if one or all plugs are black. Hows ur oil levels looking, using any or much ?

I havnt pulled the plugs I will do that tommorow.Oil level is good Usually blue smoke means burning oil mine is all black.

back the power valve setting off so it doesn't tough at idle.
set the gap to suit your cam / diff ratio
if your motor has backfired recently, you may have a stuffed powervalve.
what jet size? / powervalve size?

sounds like the power valve like adam said holley's can be touchy if you dont know how to set one up and they can take hours aswell to get them just right. go the rochester |
