My brother inlaw has his 1 tonner in the shop for a VN 5 litre EFI 5 speed conversion. He said they are using a 5 speed of a V6 ecotec and just changing the bell houseing. how strong are these gearboxes behind a V8? his mechanic say they are the same but i thought they would have smaller a inputshaft and internals? Different T5's had different torque ratings. If you are going the T5 route I would speak to Dellow armed with the numbers off the box and they should be able to tell you whether it can handle a V8 (probably not for long if it's a V6 box and you intend to |
