since we seem to be at peek oil isnt there some way our old engine oil can processed and re used in an engine etc ?

hey john, I am not sure? but i do know that you can get diesal from old oil, by distilling it. i think this is what they do to get the petrol from the crude? it might be that the oil has already had most of the usable petrol removed already??? i thi |

well at my work we have a big oil tank we tip waste oil in to it,a company buys it from work so some people must do it or why would they buy it? |

Oil is recycled, they filter and clean it add more additives and sell it back to you, quality was never as good as fresh oil years ago dont know now, they may have improved.

A mate use to use oil in a furnace to melt metals into ingots. Not sure what metals maybe alimuimum.
There was talk a few years ago of putting a filter on your car that would take a small amount of oil and filter it with really fine filter system and |

I spent a little time at a re-refinery that processes used oil.
What they end up with is basically 2 grades of base oil, that end up going into blends, and the last little bit is like a tar, that is sold off to asphalt layers.

Recycling oil... If you have a dirt floorede shed, then pour the oil into the ground and itll end up nice and smooth with no dust....Gotta be good for those out the scrub with a dirt driveway too, im about to try that one. If your putting up a fence or |

An old neighbour put up a new lap & cap 7 fence along the side of his house against a laneway. He painted it with sump oil (from all the neighbours cars - including mine!) and it stopped the graffiti artists in their tracks.

its good to see the oil recycled in various ways as for globel warming i dont believe in it anyway if its real the planet will still be here and theirs to many people on it any way
