Thanks: 1 times
Went for a Dyno today and One guy told me to put the hand brake on so I did.

After it was done I asked the guy did you take the hand brake off as it was a different guy that did the driving part he said nope that guy did.

My accerator pump wasnt working as somethings up with the linkage so I said no point in doing it blah blah he said nope acclerator pump wont mater as this wont be used in the rpm part we do the test.

He told me during the test the fuel was running lean. So I undone the mixture screws half a turn on each side 600 holley. He did the test again and said no difference in the mixture showed on the machine.

After I parked up only drove at 15kph back to parking. I thought 15mins later ahh I wonder if the drum is hot and went back to car
and touched the drums and they were hot.

I went back to the guy and said the drums were hot. He said because it kept stalling at the beginning.. ( i put the idle up to try stop this during the time he was in the car on the dyno) He had used the brake while tying to keep it going.

I though ahh ok. As I always ride the brake for the first min when I start it up so I can keep the car from stalling while cold.

Car wasnt cold when I gave it to him it was hot if anything.
Oh well my results were disapointing to say the least but not to worrie. 350 chev mild cam 327 heads extractors 2.5 inch exhaust single plane manifold th400 trans sailsbury 2.78 diff

232lbft torque and 176.8hp

Pic below of test.

I thought that was pretty reasonable actually.....thats 130kw from a carb motor.
My mate had his 351 dyno, he thought it was going to put out heaps....108kw on gas, motor half worn.
