The standard heads will be fine. Just don't go too wild in the cam. Stick to a street grind, eg a Crow 5602 or maybe 5666. And make sure you buy good quality valve springs to match the cam. If the engine doesn't have a new oil pump get one of those too. A |

a crane 284 cam with VN heads would be a very torquey motor with a huge topend.
If nissan motorsport is nismo, then doesnt that make honda motorsport Homo?

Agree, but not as torquey as early heads, as big port VN heads are too big for a stock stroke carbied 308, particularly when it's hard to get a dual plane manifold for VN heads. Boom, I think you have nailed it in previous posts, that the best bang for bu |

and if you read come racings website.....they will tell you why bother with a 350, when for a couple of hundred dollars more you can have there 95mm stroked 383 cubic incher....and it produces heaps more torque......according to them......I believe them.

Musksell- I totally agree, HOWEVER why stop at 383, when the new 396ci cranks are $1100, pistons and rods from the US shouldnt set you back more than another $1100, so in essence, it's actually cheaper to go 396 and source the parts yourself. and the amou

Now you are talking. But that is a lot of money, when you already have a rebuilt engine. Now you have a dual plane which will improve the VN headed 308 down low. However they still have massive ports so you'd have to be careful with cam choice on a 308.

If you raise the comp to 9.55-10:1 a crane 288 solid will be perfect. but, byron is correct about the massive ports, they are normally corrected by the bunch of bananas, so cam choice will be critical.

i would go with one of these but the question is: even when driven nicely, how muchpetrol are you going to use? 15-16 litres would still be fine, but going much higher than that would be a killer.
