alrighty i have a vs statesman v8... last few weeks it has been cutting out? have no idea wat from so just seeing if anyone else has had the same problems?
had a mechanic look at it he said could be
* electrical problem with ignition?
* fuel pump?
* alternator? which i dont think has anything to do with it but i dunno
* fuel injectors but had them looked at there ok

but yeh any help would be good

first I will say i have no idea,,but by replying to your post, it will certainly get the ball rolling, and i am sure some of the knowledgable dudes in here will reply..??
I can however say that to try to nut out the prob,, it is up to you?

yeh well the cutting out doesnt happen al the time but when it doesnt its useally when im at the lights stoped, or slowing down. now and then when im doin average speeed bout 60km it starts to pop a little bit like its goin to back fire..

as I said, i have no idea at all.??
thats why i threw out my so called efficient motor, and put a straight forward 308 on gas,,without all the bull**** computers and electronic crap,,
because i can nut out most things myself..
now from what
more than basketcase than a bear!

This will sound dumb as well. Take it to GMH and get them to put it on the PUTER. May save time and $$$$.

does it fire back up straight away. or do you have to crank it for a small amount of time. mostly when its hot? when it cools down again abit,it fires up first go? if it doesnt start up,does it smell of fuel when your cranking,showing the injectors are st

Nope....BCB..the inference was NOT YOU being dumb at all, as in "I have no idea" either(myself). More a case of me asking the obvious from my point of view. I am not a big fan of electronics in cars. Prefer mechanical stuff myself, like

alright found out the problem
toook awhile but eventually was a faulty battery.
had a mechaninic look at it he changed the fuel filter was dirty.. but died on me twice on the way home. so he suggested a auto electrition so took it there, they had it for

thats good. hope it says that way. i did the same thing. it lasted a week before it started playing up again.

Just worked out the problem with my car....it was the ignition module. I had the same problem of the engine cutting out when sitting at lights or slowing down too.
