I am spending money on this vehicle and some people have suggested fitting a Supra 5 speed. I`m not really that worried about originality. I have an M 21. What can be done to upgrade this gearbox? Should I upgrade to hydraulic clutch? This vehicle will be an infrequent driver. Opinions Appreciated. Thanks, Peter

leave it M21., unless you are towing alot. remember the shifter will be further back and not suited to your factory console A1 Bogan. Edited by user Friday, 7 March 2008 3:33:12 AM(UTC)

You can get them modified for bigger layshafts, but if its a stock 308 and not used much leave it alone. You can rebuild it with all new parts as well. I have NOS input shafts, and can get most of the rest of the parts aftermarket new.
