Hello Im after a quadrajet for a hj 76 253 red motor. After looking on ebay im confused about the different types that are on there and was wondering if anyone can help. It did have a pollution type quad on it but was blocked off. Would it run ok if I get a quad that was off a 308 from an early commodore or similar ? thanks in advance.

Blue 253 motors had quad`s ,u can block off emmisions but your 76 model would have had emmision control anyway so you could connect it up to your current set up. a 308 quad would work but if you found it didnt run right you could get it re-jetted to suit.

If its an original HJ 253 itll be a pre pollution, so just get a HT-HJ or LH/early LX inlet off a 308 and a Quadrajet off a WB or VC/VH 253. Get the dizzy while youre there too. All youll have to do is block up most of the vacuum ports and fit a manual or |
